These are resources that are available away from the computer. Sometimes it's nice to have a book that you can carry around with you to read on the bus or on your lunch hour. It's also a good thing to try asking people; if someone's got a particular interest in a topic, then you can get good information and make someone happy at the same time.

Please keep in mind that, since I'm the one who's been collecting these resources, they will reflect my interests.

If you can't find what you're looking for here, then try Forever Knight or general resources.

the library: if you can't find what you're looking for in your local or university library, ask a reference librarian. Not only is it their job to help, but most truly enjoy it.
local universities: there is almost always someone who knows what you need to know, and you can easily make someone happy by asking.
friends and family: you'd be surprised what secret hobbies people have!
The Complete Works of Shakespeare: I prefer the Penguin version myself, but almost any is good.
the Norton anthologies for all sorts of literature.
Sophie's World by Gaarder: a good story and easily understood philosophy for the uninitiated.
Bulfinch's Mythology: mythology from the Greeks to the Middle Ages.
Metamorphoses by Ovid: get a feel for LaCroix's mortal life and time.
Life In Ancient Rome by Cowell: a very readable and interesting book on the General's homeland.
The Vampire Book by Melton: a very good anthology of vampire lore--from folktales to cinema.
Encyclopedias: they can give you just enough information to make your story credible.
The History Channel, A&E, The Discovery Channel, etc.
